ATLANTA (March 25, 2026) — Atlanta locals welcome the newest boutique hotel, The Bird’s Nest, with open wings. On a rooftop bar that played the soundtrack of Atlanta, flocks of Gen Zers, Millennials and even Gen Alpha-ians flew to the Nest in high numbers, exceeding the hotel’s opening night goal attendance of 5,000 by 15%.
The Bird’s Nest set up shop in Virginia Highlands, one of Atlanta’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Over the past year, the hotel’s marketing team built hype, trust and a strong following among natives through social media teasers, promising a clean environment to visit and stay after a night out in Virginia Highlands. The hotel’s strategy was centered around not getting away from Atlanta but getting further into it. In a unique push for a hotel, the campaign was directed towards Atlanta natives, rather than patrons in surrounding cities and states; their tagline is “Let’s keep these good vibes going,” a phrase from a trending TikTok video.
“We wanted to introduce a safe space for the party to keep going,” says marketing director Abby Marks. “Virginia Highlands is an area people come to on a night out and don’t leave until early morning. Yes, we welcome those not from Atlanta. But by catering to our locals, we’re hoping people in surrounding areas come here to see how Atliens really get down. Our hotel serves to lead by example, placing Atlantans first.”
The Bird’s Nest is now open to those peckish for a quick drink or those looking to land for the night after soaring through Virginia Highlands.
